In July 2024, we were honored to receive an invitation from the Rwanda Coffee Association to participate in the judging of the first Rwanda Best Coffee Competition. Although we were unfamiliar with the land of Rwanda, in order to gain a deeper understanding of this country that we had only seen on coffee labels and to encourage Rwandan smallholder farmers to produce more high-quality coffee, we set off again with courage to a brand-new country
The judging work was successfully completed! During the cupping process, we also tasted the high-scoring Rwandan coffees of this session: delicate and elegant white floral aromas with lively fruity notes, and high sweetness with rich brown sugar lingering in the mouth for a long time. Without our notice, the coffee-growing regions of Rwanda have already developed the capability to produce high-quality coffee. Strict selection of coffee cherries and high-standard post-processing present unique and clean terroir flavors
During this journey, we also visited several coffee exporters and brought back multiple coffee samples. After eight months of layered cupping, we finally selected these Rwandan coffee to introduce to the coffee Roasters
